Hi everyone!

Christmas is coming. This is a special time of the year that we can spend with the family. Holidays are associated with many traditions, I will describe here a few of them.

One of the traditions is a decorated Christmas tree. It should be decorated on December 23. Christmas decorations should be associated with the Christmas symbolism.
A Bethlehem star hangs on top of it. Once on the Christmas tree, apples were hung that symbolized the parable of Adam and Eve. Green trees are a symbol of Jesus' life and birth.
Another tradition is sharing a special wafer when exchanging Christmas wishes. Wafer is a thin piece of baked wheat flour and water. There are images associated with Christmas on it.
The wishes we make to each other should be sincere to sit down to dinner with pure hearts. Singing

Christmas carols is a tradition handed down from generation to generation.
We start singing them at the Christmas table. They are songs that tell about the birth of Jesus. Pasterka is a traditional mass celebrated on the night of 24th December.
It symbolizes the vigil of the shepherds in the manger of Jesus. We participate in it together with our loved ones. This is the most important moment during Christmas.
Poland is one of the countries that has probably one of the highest number of carols.

In the UK at 3:00 PM, the whole country is sitting in front of the TVs, because at this hour the queen delivers an annual, ten-minute speech to her subjects.
Everyone listens to it obligatorily. There is a habit of kissing under the mistletoe, it is practiced especially at office, pre-Christmas "parties" taking place either in offices or in rented pub halls.
Traditionally, streets, shops and private houses are richly decorated.

In Ireland, there is still an old-fashioned habit of putting in the window of a lit candle, which is to point the way to a foreign wanderer and readiness to take him under the roof.
These traditions have been passed down for centuries and still do not change.

Greetings!
