" The day of foreign languages in State Higher Vocational School in
Krosno. "
The Meeting started at 11 am. Rector NHVS, Gregory Przebinda,
welcomed and subdivided us into groups ; Germany language, English
language, Intercultular and Translation group.I participated in "Translations to English”
At the beginning, the german group and ours went to
"Why is language important?" - where the lecturer replied to our
questions in an interesting way. We could say anything we wanted to and
he showed us the right way of thinking.
During the 2nd seminar, the teacher told us how to do a simultaneous and consecutive translations.
Simultaneous looks like - the person who translates something, repeats
words after the person who’s talking and triesnot to be any seconds
late. However, they change their roles after 15 minutes. Consecutive, looks
like – the translation is available after a full statement. Translators help themselves with special symbols and write what the speaker
said.
All the seminars lasted about 30 minutes. We also had a treat
prepared by them organizers. Everything finished at 2pm. In my opinion, this day was
really good, I realized how many patience translators need to have in
their job.
